The Sierras are truly a magical place. Regardless of the season, there is always something to enjoy here. Despite the lack of snow this season (not counting the intense storm yesterday), the skiing has been wonderful, and the weather warm and balmy. One of the unique things about our area is the variety of activities available year-round. I don’t know of many other places where you can ski in the morning and go on a wine tour in the afternoon, or snowshoe through groves of some of the largest trees on the Earth. I have lived in the area for a very long time and I am still discovering places around here that take my breath away. Hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing, snowboarding, sledding, fishing…the list goes on and on! These mountains offer an unspoiled, peaceful serenity that is hard to come by in this day and age. The sierra’s we remain a quiet place with a strong community and tons to offer. As John Muir once described it, the area is “A flowering glade in the very heart of the woods, forming a fine center for the student, and a delicious resting place for the weary.” Truer words have not been spoken. + .
